NATIVE AMERICAN HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES

WHAT WE TARGET

According to recent U.S. and Canadian censuses, there are about 5.4 million Native Americans living in the United States (2% of the population) and 1.8 million living in Canada (4.9% of the population). While circumstances are arguably worse for those living on reservations, all Indigenous people today face a copious amount of challenges in everyday life. Historical and intergenerational trauma, societal discrimination, racism, and cultural appropriation have all fed into these issues, which must be addressed to allow Natives to become a self-sustaining people again.
